Set Up Equipment Types

Equipment types are categories of equipment (for example, slitters, heaters, chillers, and so on). A number of predefined equipment types that should suit most of your needs are available from this screen.

You cannot delete an equipment type if it is used in any equipment hierarchy or if there are content files associated with them. To delete, first move, edit or delete the files, then delete the equipment type. You cannot add an equipment type if a type with the same name already exists.

Access the setup types screen either from the Setup & Admin tab, or from the Setup Equipment Hierarchy screen.

Use the following procedures to modify or remove types (if needed) from the list, or add new equipment types.

To delete:

  1. Highlight the equipment type in the left column, then click Delete.
  2. At the Warning prompt to confirm the delete, click OK.

To edit:

  1. Highlight the equipment type in the left column, then edit the name in the Edit Equipment Type section.
  2. Click Save.

To add new type:

  1. Click Add.
  2. Enter a name in the Equipment Type field.
  3. Click Save. The new type will be added to the list of equipment types.

Note: New equipment types can also be added when equipment hierarchy is added, if the start file contains new equipment types.
