GlobalMark Color & Cut Print Setup

Because LINK360 software is a web application it does not have direct access to the printer drivers. Therefore, when printing lockout tags and energy source labels to a GlobalMark® Color & Cut printer, you must edit certain settings in the printer preferences in Microsoft® Windows® before printing. Do this whenever you print labels or tags of a different size. A PDF file is generated and this PDF file is sent to the GlobalMark Color & Cut printer. For best results make sure you have Adobe Reader installed. (It is a free download from Adobe.)

To set up your computer for printing to a GlobalMark Color & Cut printer:

  1. Find the GlobalMark Color & Cut printer in the Devices and Printers folder in Windows. (In both Windows 7 and Windows 8, open Control Panel, then open Hardware and Sound, then Devices and Printers.)
  2. Verify that the driver version is 3.1 or higher. If not, upgrade the printer driver before printing from the LINK360 software.
    • Right-click the GlobalMark Color & Cut printer and select Printer properties.
    • On the Device Settings tab, click the Properties button next to Driver Information.
  3. With the GlobalMark Color & Cut Properties window still open, select the Advanced tab and then click Printing Defaults.
  4. In the GlobalMark Color & Cut Printing Defaults window, click the Advanced button. Make the following changes in the GlobalMark Color & Cut Advanced Options window.
    • Change Color Settings to Full Color.

    • Next to Paper Size, click Properties. Click the Tape Size you are using and then set the Document length according to the following tables.

      For energy source labels:

  5. Click OK on the Tape window, the GlobalMark Color & Cut Advanced Options window, and the GlobalMark Color & Cut Printing Defaults window.
  6. In the GlobalMark Color & Cut Properties window, click the General tab and then click the Preferences button.
  7. In the GlobalMark Color & Cut Printing Preferences window, click the Advanced button and make the following changes.
    • Change Color Settings to Full Color.

    • Next to Paper Size, click Properties. Click the Tape Size you are using and then set the Document length according to the following tables.

  8. Click OK on the Tape window, the GlobalMark Color & Cut Advanced Options window, and the GlobalMark Color & Cut Printing Preferences window. Click Apply and on the GlobalMark Color & Cut Properties window.
