Requirements

Certain requirements must be met in order to edit documents.

User Rights

The user must have the following rights. (See Edit User Details for more about assigning rights.)

Document Ownership

You can only edit your own drafts, that is drafts that you created or that were reassigned to you.

Document State

You cannot edit a document that is out for review or approval. A document must be in the Draft or Published state to open it for editing.

Edit Unavailable for Confined Space Documents

When viewing a permit form or reclassification for a confined space, the Edit command is unavailable if the confined space assessment is published.

To place the documents into an editable state:

  1. Click the link to the associated confined space safety assessment.
  2. When viewing the safety assessment, click Edit in the Related Information column.This opens the safety assessment for editing and puts it into the Draft state. Associated permits and reclassifications are also changed to the Draft state.
  3. Click Save & Finish to close the assessment without editing. The assessment is open in view mode.
  4. Click the link to the entry permit or reclassification. Now the Edit command is available
