Generate Link
Use this feature when personnel need to view or print a document without logging in to the LINK360 software. Anyone with the link can view the document in a web browser and print it.
This feature is only visible if your subscription administrator has enabled it. For setup information see Document Links and Edit User Details.
You can only share published documents. Published documents are easily identified by the following symbol.
To generate a link:
-
Right-click a published document on the Home tab or Find/Create Files tab, and click Generate Link. Alternatively, while viewing a document, click Generate Link to the right of the document preview. A window opens with the link.
- Click Copy on the Document Link window. The link is copied to the Windows clipboard. Click OK to close the Document Link window.
- Paste the link into an email or other means of sharing it. When the recipient clicks the link, the document opens in a browser window. The recipient can view or print the document, but can not edit it or access other LINK360 features.
Is the link broken if the document is edited?
No. The linked document does not change until the edited document is saved and published. At that time the document at the link is updated to show the newly published document. If someone happens to be viewing the link at the time document changes are published in LINK360 software, the user would need to refresh their browser to see the changes.
